First Build Help?

Hi, I was looking for a new desktop a few weeks ago, when one of my friends recommended building a computer instead. He claimed it would be more powerful for the same price. Well, I started researching, and have been doing this for weeks. Im really interested, and I've pretty much decided im gonna go through with the build even if its not cheaper than just buying a computer. But can someone look through the parts list I currently have, and see if there are ways to reduce price without reducing performance? Id like to stay with intel, and I dont plan on overclocking. Also, can someone recommend a good graphics card? I play games like empire total war, but im not really sure what kind of card I need to play these.

[FONT=verdana, geneva, lucida, 'lucida grande', arial, helvetica, sans-serif]A few random questions. Is WD any better than Seagate? Ive found Seagate HDD's for much cheaper, but im not sure which one to get. Also, for the wireless, is the adapter the same as a card? Or did I choose the wrong thing?

Drop the caviar black for a seagate barracuda or a samsung f3, not much slower for a good chunk less.

cooler looking to me and rebates cheaper

the card is the right choice, an internal pci card is way better than an external usb adapter.

You also need a copy of windows 7 oem 64-bit, which costs 100.

Check if you live near a microcenter, they have intel cpus for way cheaper. 2500k for 180 or 2400 for 150.

Gpu all depends on budget, an HD 6770 should do fine, can play any game out there well, but some newer games like BF3 i think can't go 1080p now, a 6850 is a great card and does great on every game on 1080p, anything over the 6850 or a GTX 560ti or higher are going to do great.

Seagate and WD are the only HDD companies left. All the others have been bought out by one company or another. You should also think about getting a 2500K if you intend to overclock. Some 1600MHz RAM wouldn't hurt either.

Thanks for the help, ill change the RAM, but Jonnypp11, why does the PSU you posted have more power if its wattage is lower?

amps x volts = watts, there are 5 voltages used, but the +12v rail is the most important, as it is the one used by the cpu, motherboard, and graphics (might be more but those are the main and most power hungry parts). the corsair has 53 amps on the 12v rail, making a total of 636 watts, while the cooler master only has 50 amps for 600 watts. The corsair also has more amps on 3 of the other 4 rails, so it has considerably more power actually, cooler master isn't as high end, they are hit and miss with their models, although the silent pros are good, they are still fairly good at false labling, but they are better than most, many will either pump up the 5 volt rail to show higher watts, or just square it or something to get what they want so they sound better.
