[SOLVED]VGA Problem =\
I went to the store today and picked up replacement RAM for what was a bad stick before. I also needed a new video card so I picked up an Nvidia 560Ti and came home to put them together.
I've installed tons of new hardware over the years without any problems whatsoever, but this time...I am at a complete loss.
So, I put in the fixed RAM, and I replaced the video card. Hook everything up and hit power...Computer is on, but it tells me no signal. So I run through a bunch of the standard 'is it plugged in' checks and everything is correctly hooked together without issue. I decide, okay, I will try my old video card and see if that works. I replaced the card with my old one, and still am told no signal and no post.
I wondered if it was RAM related, so I tried using some sticks I was using before as a temporary replacement to the bad piece - no change - still no signal even when I swap the VGA cards. Still no post either.
Then I put in the new RAM and test again with the new card. This time, I get a post after a moment but it is a long beep followed by three short ones. Upon searching, I find on the ASUS forums that the specific error is related to a VGA problem (Basically, not detected). I tried the old video card again, and now recieve no post, and then the new one again, and I now get no post.
If that was a confusing series of events, let me know and I will clean it up a bit.
I'm entirely stuck with this. This PC is brand new since christmas so I dont get why it wouldnt work (especially with the old card back in...wtf). I'm cursed with technology...any help would be appreciated.
