Building a mini/micro build

My roommate is wanting to get a better computer for cheap to play flight simulator. He doesn't need the best graphics, basically just a huge step from his regular laptop. I'm thinking of doing an FM1 build. He wants to be able to bring it to work easily at least 3 times a week. I need some help with the case, though.

Would this power supply be fine? And if not, any suggestions for a microATX power supply? If so, I'd go with something like this for the case:

So I can spend the extra money on other components.

Also looking at the A8 unlocked APU and overclocking. What would be a good cooler for this? Could I cram a H60 or something similar in this? Wouldn't need a DVD drive, can get a portable one or he can use mine when he wants to install something. Looking at 1866mhz RAM because I heard the APUs perform well with them.

He has about $600 for this build. I have a copy of win7 and keyboard/mouse/monitor.

Any more suggestions, please feel free. Thanks.

Hmm, that is a possibility. Would change out the power supply/memory kit with this:

Would really like 1866 RAM, and the price comes close.

And would get this motherboard and the A8-whateverk:

Not sure what he wants on drives. He just needs OS, internet, and FSX, which is 12GB. So maybe a 60Gb SSD would work, something like this:

Doesn't need to be the fastest thing in the world.

And not sure on the case. I'll see what he would rather have, a small slim case or that case, which would definitely be cooler.

I'm gonna try and see if anyone has any suggestions for a slim case that I could fit this in, then I was looking at the Antex H20 620 so it can stay cool in that cramped case. But not see much for slim cases that support any sort of all-in-one coolers.

that's not an fm1 cooler, which is going to pose a problem, i know the 212 evo is fm1 compatible but it's probably too big for any case like what he wants unless he'd like an antec lanboy air or something.

I would steer clear of half height cases. They can be nightmare to work with and to cool. If your friend wants something compact point him towards mini ITX cases such as this one:

Hmm, that does look pretty nice, but the only miniITX boards available for FM1 are:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157273

Both looks kind of sketchy/expensive... I'll show him the options.

Bumping this thread. Here's the build I got right now...

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231474

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827136240

Decided against the ITX mobo and case. No good mobos for ITX. I know the case isn't that great quality and no cable management, but I'm pretty good at hiding the cables wherever I can, and he's always careful with expensive things.

Still trying to figure out the hard drive situation. I need a recommendation of a smaller cooler that fits an FM1 socket.

Thanks for any suggestions.
