GTX 560 2GB Sli or ditch?

Hello people,

Bought a 2GB GTX 560 a little over a month ago for $220. I bought the 2Gb version as I planned to SLI from the very beginning. The thing is SLI is sounding less and less attractive especially since the single 560 in my current system idles a little to hot for my liking. So, should I cut my losses and go with say a 7950? (currently about $450) Or go ahead with my original plan and get a second 560?

Thanks for reading!

Id always say one superior card over 2 general cards. Less power/ less heat. And a 7950 should do for just aboout anything at 1080.It may be wise to wait for nvidias new offerings. 2 Things could happen. Theyre amazing and similarly priced as amds new cards which makes amd drop there prices. Prices in flagship cards like the gtx 580 may also drop due to new offerings.

what's the current temps in game under load, maybe stress it with like furmark and see. Otherwise a 7950 wouldn't be too awful far behind 2 560's

Like mike said, i'd hold off. With you're current setup, I don't see any major point in upgrading at the current prices anyways.

Well, load temps aren't too high. I've been seeing 61-64 lately, but they idle at around 40-45. Not too high in general, but I'd like them to be lower if possible. And adding a card wouldn't help.

I more than likely will wait for more AMD options, then the 700's and more than likely my decision will change.
