is 5gz normal on 2500k with no voltage ups? or do i have nice chip? this is my new rig and i was just playing around and it was stable WOW !!! why did i wait so long to convert to intel Lol
 
well,im pretty impressed with this build.i have to say ssd/gtx570/2500k is a good combo im very pleased:D and this ASRock board has some really nice features like XfastLAN ..i feel like its christmas
 
ok ill try it tonite.5-6 hours and my temps were mid 40's. yeah that speed is only for benching usually keep it 4.2ghz normal use

If it is stable at 5ghz and mid 40s for temp, you could easily go 4.5-4.7 ghz for everyday use, easy. Especially if there's no voltage increase. Are you using a temp program that measures the max temperature it got to? HWmonitor is a good one. Measures the low/high/current temps of your CPU, along with other uses.
 
ok.one more question.im new to intel setups and need to know the name of the setting in the bios that slows my cpu down at idle.its messing up my pi scores kiking in gear at like 3 sec.:D

ok.i ran prime95@ 5.1ghz stable 4 hours 65c 100% load all cores 30c idle :D default voltage
