i wanted to overclock my xeon dual proccesors (single core) and i have a few questions.
ok heres my questions
1.is 35 celusius a good temp for my cpu when just surfing the web.
2. if i overclock what are temps that are way to hot?
3. were do i get the software to do this?
4. should i leave on hyper threading when overclocking?

You'll want a new cooler to achieve any overclock worth it, on stock you might get ~.2ghz extra, an increase, but not a very noticeable one.

Is this a pre-built computer, not homemade? If so, it's doubtful you even can overclock, it's safest to do it in the bios during start-up, and oem bios suck and lock off all the good stuff.

Yeah it's a stock cooler .2 ghz ahh don't know about that. Worthless haha. This is random but do they they make motherboards with pre installed CPUs with heatsink or fan? Because I want to build one but I'm just scared of messing up the CPU part. The only ones I found were motherboards with intel atoms. If u find one and give me a link I'll be happy haha 50 to 200 bucks.

With regards buying a built in CPU because you dont want to bork it , if you are able to remove a motherboards reset up cables power , sata ,etc and removing a stock cooler the only thing you are trying to avoid is flipping a lever ,

with regards the OC , i would have thought if you let us know which motherboard you have we could tell you exactly what is possible to OC

For instance i brought a dual core CPU , But the actually CPU is a quad core but with 2 cores locked , My motherboard can unlock cores not all mobo's can ,

Why where 2 cores locked you may think , there are 2 ideas around i believe may be more , either the CPU started off as a quad core but was unstable so they locked 2 cores , Or the OEM needed allot of dual cores so used there surplus quad cores,
