You might not want to upgrade to Win8 Consumer Preview

Just a heads up for anybody doing what I'm doing and using Windows 8 as a free version of Windows 7 through the RPEnabled registry hack. I was about to update to Consumer Preview, and then I found this.

Tell me about it. No, of course Microsoft can't let us keep it..... I'll have to rely on some other registry hack when the developer preview expires.

I know Microsoft wants to make a change,but doing something so stupid and forcing users to use only what they want just sucks lol!
And if Metro would not be possible to be disabled then your PC will have to be a PHONE PC lol.
I have nothing against NEW things,but they should REALLY put an option so users can choose what they want.if they want METRO,they can use METRO.If they was DESKTOP with START MENU,they can use DESKTOP with START MENU.if they want classic Windows look,they can use classic Windows look.
But the way Microsoft is heading it just seems to me like all the previous things they made won't be available anymore and you won't have any choice but to use what they give you.That's so stupid.

I have a feeling that Windows 7 was the last good OS they made and from there on everything will be worse lol.WAKE UP MICROSOFT!!!YOU WANT TO EARN MONEY?!THEN LISTEN TO WHAT USERS WANT AND NOT YOU!!!

I agree, but I feel like all the people who test it with a laptop and/or desktop will voice their opinion very loudly and demand an option to disable the metro.

Like I said in the other thread, its much faster loading on my core2duo laptop, and it doesn't hit the pagefile on my P4, 512mb laptop when XP did, so that part is nice.

But since I have a really fast SSD on my desktop, I wouldn't see the point.
