CPU and (guessing it is) motherboard really high temps?

hey guys, i figured out the cause of the stuttering. has nothing to do with the GPU, it has to do with my CPU and some other thing i can't figure out. in speedfan, it shows that my CPU temp is 80C, 60C it's breaking point. im going to replace the thermal paste tomorrow and see what that does for me there. btw it's a phenom II x4 955 BE. but there is this other temp that says "temp 1". i'm guessing it's my northbridge? if anyone can point that to me, that would be great. another thing to, it seems to be the main temp, since when it's in the tray, it shows that temp. anyways, if you can point me into the direction of why these two are overheating, just let me know, they've never done this before. thanx in advance!

Are you overclocked and on a stock cooler? If you're going to overclock I recommend getting an aftermarket cooler.

not at all, at least i think...let me check my bios settings, but i doubt it is cuz cpu-z is showing it's stock 3.2 ghz speed. should i turn of AMD cool an quiet? any other options on an AMD processor that might be doing this? thanx

No, keep Cool n Quiet enabled.

I'd recommend first applying new Arctic Silver. If that doesn't help much (It needs a while to wear in) then I'd get an aftermarket cooler.

just replaced the thermal paste...seems a little better. this is my main concern right now, whenever i see the temp get above 60C, the fan never changes, the fan stays the same the whoooooole time, around 800 RPM's i have no idea what's going on here and i need some help on how to get it to actually go above at least 1500 RPM's. and yes i disabled smart fan but it doesn't decide to go above 100 RPM's until it hits 85C, just 5C away from it's max.

then get an aftermarket cooler. Look for like linked above the CM Hyper212+, or Hyper212 Evo.
