Building new computer..

Well, I'm potentially building a new system of my own (just need that damn wife approval). I am a firm believer of more eyes being better than a single pair. Does anyone see any obviously bad choices, parts that could be swapped for roughly the same price, or places to shave off a few bucks?

Case: NZXT Apollo Black SECC Steel Chassis ATX Mid Tower
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-P55-UD3L
CPU: Intel i5 750
RAM: g.Skill 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1600
GPU: XFX Radeon HD 5770 1GB
PSU: Corsair CMPSU-650TX 650W Ethusiast Series
HSF: XIGMATEK Dark Knight with i5 bracket kit

I'm not in need of drives, keyboard, mouse, or other peripherals, as they will be coming over from my old system.

I should probably include my usage information. I use my system primarily for WoW, but also play some games on the side (currently Mass Effect 3 and Left 4 Dead 2). I might also be doing some video capture and editing in the future, but I expect it its capable of the above it shouldnt be an issue.

sorry but other than the ram that just sucks,

same price but rebates 10

the case has no cable management and although it has a window, the interior isn't painted which isn't too good looking when the outside is black

those are old socket and cpu, plus cost too much for the mobo, you can get a good lga1155 for 150 or so, and an i5-2500k for 230, and those will kill those, and if you live near a microcenter you can get the cpu and mobo together for 50 off, and they already have that 230 bck 2500k for 180, so basically 100 off

why would you buy a used 5770 for 115 when that's how much they are new? whoever put it up for 400 is an idiot

i would spend the extra 10 or 12 and get the 8gb's

Idk how good that thing is, but from the newegg reviews it doesn't seem much if any better than the 30 buck cooler master hyper 212

Don't use an i5 750 or 760. I've got a 760 but that's because when I built my system the 760 was the latest out there (Sandy Bridge hadn't been released). LGA 1156 is a dead socket and the LGA 1155/Sandy Bridge motherboards and CPUs out there are about the same price and are faster, and they are of course the latest generation. If you want an i5 get the 2500K if you want to overclock, and if you don't want to overclock still get the 2500K unless you can't afford it in which case step down to a 2400 or 2300. The graphics card is also from the previous generation, get the card Jonny linked to above. The PSU is overkill, you'd probably be OK with a 550W or 600W PSU for that graphics card and 550W should be fine for a quad-core i5. NZXT's cases are pretty good but apparently the Apollo hasn't got great cable management features. That Cooler Master case will be just fine though. I'd spend the extra and get 8GB of RAM like Jonny suggested, set you up better for the future.

For what you have, it seems you can get much better things, for about the same price.

For your case, I think you should go with these: (They will benefit you much more in the long run).

The CPU and motherboard you specified are dead sockets, go with these:

For 10 bucks more, go with 8gb of ram.

I suppose you could stay with your power supply, but it is a bit much, if you wish to save some money and have room for upgrades, go with this:

As for you video card, I would say go with a USED HD 5770, as there is no difference between the HD 6770 and the HD 5770, except for the HD 5770 being cheaper.

Just for the sake of conversation, What would be the difference between the Extreme 3 that I suggested and the Extreme 4 you suggested? If you buy them separately the Extreme3 costs $354.98. I would assume the Extreme 4 is better but the cost difference is only $30. It would be more than just a version update right?

The Extreme4 has more SATA3 & USB3 ports. It also has an extra PCIe 2.0 x16 slot.

I just chose it because for the $30 more, it seems like a fair enough deal when buying it in a combo.
