SSD:
OCZ Vertex Series OCZSSD2-1VTX120G 2.5" 120GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

I cant say how many times I have installed windows on this SSD, (Windows Ultimate) x64 bit and I have even done an RMA on the drive at one point.

1) Is there a way to test the drive to see if its bad, I only know how to do so on a regulard hdd but how do you test an SSD?

2) Any thoughts on whats goin on?

THis is the only symptom I can provide:
Sometimes the winstall will last a couple months, other times it will only last for a day or less...

The last incident, I just reinstalled windows and it was working fine... until I reboot, after reboot i get the suk error that cannot get into windows and it puts me into windows recovery mode

Of course windows recovery mode doesnt work and I have to install windows

This has happened at least 6 times between 2 different SSD (same model)

Ive also tried Windows 7 Professional too, same deal

What's your full system specs, including make and model of power supply?

Couple of things you can try. First, have you followed this guide at all with installing an SSD?

http://www.computerforum.com/192436-setup-manage-ssd.html

Second, I would try updating the firmware. Follow this guide carefully.

Have you been using the same SATA cable? Sometimes the SATA cable is all that is wrong.

And finally, you can do a regular disk check on an SSD. Just right click it from my comptuer, tools, disk check, and then restart.

Hopefully this helps. If not, try contacting OCZ.

1. I have tried updated firmware.
2. I dont believe that scandisk works on SSD?
3. I have RMA this drive, as I had it unplugged last few months, plugged it back in and it was not detected by BIOS.

Did you erase it before reinstalling the os?
Use OCZ's recommended method or run the "clean" or "clean all" command from diskpart? Not format. Once it's clean, (altho Windows 7 installer should align it) while still in diskpart, you could align it too.
Are you trying to run it in ACHI mode without the correct driver?

I don't mean to hijack this thread, but any one else have this experience that when you don't use the SSD for a while say more than a month will create a problem? I had this problem, when I park the computer for more than one month and come back with problems:confused:.
thanks.
