Netbook Temperatures?

I just bought a netbook today, it has an Intel Atom N2600 Dual-Core processor. I looked at the temps, and both of the cores idle at about 46C, and saw them go as high as 57C. Is this normal?
 
That's pretty normal, especially since netbooks don't have the best cooling.
 
Most processors can withstand temps of 70+, but it's usually best to keep it below that threshold.
 
Do the ATOMS have a fan on them? Someone told me that the heatsink is just connected to the frame of the keyboard...Also, How sure are you that this is normal?

Does the thermal paste ever "Wear out", making temps go higher?

Netbooks have a small fan on them, but a lot of the heat is also meant to be dispersed through the keyboard.

And I'm sure it's normal because CPU's are made to go that high.

When I owned my Eee I never took it apart to see what the paste was like (or even if they used some - they could have used thermal pads) but over a LONG period of time it can become crusty and not as effective as fresh paste.
 
Even if thermal pads are used it can become "Crusty" or ineffective? Also, Do you remember the temps you were running on your EEE?

Thermal pads don't become crusty.

And no I don't. I didn't often monitor them. But my Eee got (pleasantly) warm.
 
Which one do you Suppose is used in my netbook? Thermal PAD? Thermal Grease? & Also, the highest I've seen it was at 57..just from watching a netflix movie...
 
I always thought that Laptops/Netbooks always use thermal pads? Also..Just from watching a netflix movie, My temps can jump to 55. Is that normal?

It all depends on the computer and the demands put on it.

And no, not all machines use thermal pads. Many use thermal paste, while others use thermal pads.

I don't know. Usually if you have any issues you should just contact them. Usually anything that isn't physical damage is covered under a manufacturer warranty. And no, as far as I know they don't pay for shipping.
