I bought a Used HP Laserjet 5550dn printer, I was told I needed to download the drivers off the internet. I went on the HP site

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsuppor...iesId=409994&swLang=8&taskId=135&swEnvOID=228

and Downloaded the HP Color LaserJet 5550 PCL6 Driver, When its saving to my pc the exstention is .exe however when it on my desktop it look like this

I unzip the file to C: , click HP CLJ5550 PCL6 Driver, then I see a bunch of files with the same name, the only one I see that looks like it could be it is the file ''hpc5550c'' when I click that file I go to a separate window that also has a bunch of files, the only file I see here that could be the driver file is CIOUM32.msi after I click that file somethings pops up for a spilt second then nothing happens, I check my printer properties and nothing is there. Iv already hooked up my new printer, it found the hardware ok, but still cant get the driver yet. Please advise, thank you

If the extracted ZIP doesn't have a setup.exe file, then just install the printer through the control panel. When it asks for a driver, point it to the extracted directory and it will install the driver.

ok, iv done that, the printer has shown up in my printers now. However Its not printing anything. My Printer is hooked up via USB of course,Now that I remember, at the beginning of the add new printer, it asked what port I wanted the printer to communicate to, I chose LPT1, Instead of one of the USB ports...it gives 2 different USB ports to hook up to, USB001 and USB002, What one should I chose, ill have to delete the printer at start over again.

Choose any of the USB ports.

The alternative is to try and install the printer via the device manager.

Finally, test page printed off nicely, it was the USB002 that worked for me. Thanks again for your help.
