Multi OS problems.

Looks to me like the problem's with your W2K disc, is it genuine or copied? It doesn't look to me like that file is being copied properly or something.

Windows 2000 is NTFS, it's based on the NT kernel isn't it. It's NT 5.0. If you've been formatting your disk using FAT32 and the disk is over 32GB in size you'll run into issues.

Yeah once you can get Windows 2000 installed on one partition and XP installed on another and Windows 7 on another they should work fine. I wouldn't bother with easyBCD to be honest, it may or may not cause problems - or at least just get your multi-boot stable and working before you play with easyBCD.

My W2K disk is fine. It IS copied but it does the job. I have a clean copy as a back up for it on a USB too if needbe.
I use easybcd all the time, it really gets on my goat (lol) when W7 just says "Earlier Version of Windows". IT HAS A NAME :(.

You know Windows 8? It is a pile of poop with multi os isnt it cause it has a whole new gui for it. MS are gonna fail with that one, i tried W8 and hated it.

If I put another xp on after W7 at a later date, (long story but it is really justified) could I just do a repair of W7 afterwards, or would I have to re format each time. Its really annoying if so, cause like my recovery, it says non destructive or destructive, I would like to use the NON destructive as I have to re register with packard bell each time with destructive., but I dont know if
non destructive affects the boot manager, boot.ini or the MBR.

Whoa have you heard of the 'Edit' button?? Edit the post if you want to add something please!!!

I'm going to recommend you take a look at this http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/download.html - download it (I know it's big) and see if you can format your hard drive using that bootable CD. You should then be able to create new partitions on your disks using that CD to install your operating systems on to. Once you've done that, install each OS you want to install to a separate partition each, starting with installing 2000, then XP, and then 7 last. That should work fine for you, give it a go. They're the steps I'd take.

You probably won't get a reply from me until about 10.00pm because I'm going out tonight.

Dont worry, it all works perfectly now :) thankyou for the help. I have all the OSs including Server 2000 running in full dual screen true colour :) it looks really cool.
