Hdd/ssd help

i am making a budget computer for gaming, and i'm only going to have win.7, world of Warcraft, and minecraft on it(maybe a few other games, but all the others would be disk), and was wondering if instead of getting a 500gb hdd for 85$, if i should just get a 120gb ssd for $120. Any input would be helpful.

7, wow & minecraft won't take up much of the 120gb so you could use it as the only system drive. Just remember that whatever you save to folders will take up space too.

do you think it will be enough though? or should i just get a hdd, then save up for a ssd so i have both?
I don't know how much other space you'll need. Your the only one that can figure that out.

A 120gb SSD will have an approximate actual size of 115gb.
Something like Windows 7, MS Office 2010, WoW, Minecraft, AV, would be around 30gb but program folder and other storage would add to that. So depends on how much storage and how much your going to save to the drive.

With that said, usually a budget gaming pc starts with a hdd because the $amount used for a gpu is more important than an ssd. $85 vs $120 = 35 more towards a bigger gpu.

What do you have for components and whats your spending limit?

Just get 4gb memory for now. Take that $ and the 35 that was ssd and get a better mb and a ps thats big enough.

but the extra 4gb helps minecraft, and isnt 300W enough, because the gpu runs at 55W vvs the normall 100ish of the others.

I dont know off hand how many 12volt amps that card needs. The manuf's reccomend is 450 system watts.

I have a pretty sweet AMD build here for less than $560 after 30 in mirs + ship, so it would be around 600 shipped and 30 back, if your interested, then you wouldnt have to worry about it :D.
