My PC build

Hello!

I have posted my build previously, and have taken a lot of advice from you all, and now I still have more questions!

Anyway, first off I'll post my build already.-

- asrock extreme3 970 (question with this coming along lol...)
- 1 or 2 gb VRAM radeon 6850 (hey what do you know another debate)
- x4 ii 965 BE
- debating 8 or 16gb Ram, although will the mobo support 16???
- WD Caviar blue 500GB
- CM elite 431 plus (this should fit everythin nicely)
- Power supply Corsair430 ATX 12v
- An asus optical drive lol

Oknow comes the question...
1. Is that mobo capable of what I want? Especially if I would get the 16gb ram and 2gb video card, because I mean that is a cheap mobo not going to lie..I even heard OC problems with it

2. Should I get the 1 or 2GB video card? Now I know that nearly no software uses 2gb but I'm pretty sure a lot more will in the upcoming years, and I won't be upgrading that soon and it would only be 40$ extra, so I'm thinking worth it.

3. Now a few ones in one, should I get that mobo? This goes with question 1 I guess..and now could you all give me your opinions on anything else I missed or that you would like to mention?

I really appreciate your help, I'm just a high schooler and soon getting to college so I want my desktop ready (I have a dell inspiron 1440, that laptop cant handle s*** lol)

Yours sincerely

You could have just kept the other thread goning.

You said you want to play games on it.
You haven't said if you have an operatining system.

16gb memory will be a waste of money for gaming. 4gb is enough. If its 64bit Windows 7, 8gb will be managed better than 4gb and the cost diff between the 4gb & 8gb @ 1600mhz is minimal.

Get the 1gb vc and use the 40 towards the needed ps in the 550w range. XFX, Antec, Seasonic, Silverstone, Corsair, PC Power & Cooling.

The rest is fine.

I will be using windows 7, or maybe 8, although I don't know when that comes out, I should have my computer done by December 2012.
I will be playing games, but only that, I'm planning on using photo shop, but I guess that doesn't need ram, also I will be viewing blu ray movies, etc.
Sorry about not continuing the thread, I won't repeat that :)
And thanks a lot man

I'd go for at least a 500w from the list Benny Boy gave.

And I don't think you could get to a high enough setting with the 6850 to make use of that extra 2GB. But the more you can spend on the graphics card, the better. If you have extra money to use, go for a 6870 or even a 6950.

Isn't the 6950 2gb anyway? But a bit out of my price range, what about cords firing two 6850 1gb, i know the VRAM wouldn't be 2gb, even though you have 2, but I'm sure major boost in performance, unless I'm mistaken

Now that I look, the only ones that are being made still are 2GB.

If you can afford two 6850, I'd still go for a single 6950. Always go for the most expensive single video card you can afford. Less heat, less power, less driver issues, and more upgradability.
