New here and need help

Hey guys, I just built my first PC, and everything is on and working. I've gone into BIOS and changed some settings for OC'ing. However, I have a copy of Windows 7, and it won't boot up. I put the CD in the drive, and the drive is working properly because I threw in the support CD for my AsRock Pro3Gen3 and it works. The problem is I can't get the Windows7 to boot up so I can install and start using my computer. I keep getting the same message, which is: "Reboot and Select Proper Boot Device
Or Insert Boot media in selected boot device."

I've set the primary boot device to my disk drive and put in Windows 7, but I keep getting the same message. Could it be the CD that is not working or is there something else missing.

AsRock z68 Pro3Gen3
MSI R6950 Twin Frozr III PE/OC
P&C 750W 80 Silver
Corsair Vengeance 8GB
Asus x 24 CD/DVD drive
WD Caviar Blue 500GB 7200RPM
Cooler Master Hyper 212Plus
Storm Enforcer Mid ATX
 
Is the data cable attached to the cdrom? Does the bios detect the cdrom? Is it a genuine microsoft install cd or a copy?

Yeah, the data cable is attached and the BIOS detects the CDRom. However, it is a copy of the install CD. My friend has used it before and it has worked, but from what I can see, it may be the CD, because every other CD is being read properly. I was hoping I wouldn't have to spend an extra $100 on Windows. I spent all my money on the build :(
 
Do you have a valid cd key, that has not been used? If not, you will need to buy your own copy of windows 7 with the license key.
 
Doesn't even let me insert a CD key. Keeps repeating the same message. Friend is gonna take a look at it tonight, though I really would have wanted to get it working and start enjoying it already.

Not to be mean or anything but thats not what I'm asking you. You said this is a copy of a cd, which means its most likely not genuine. Unless you paid for a license key, its illegal to continue to install. If the cd won't boot, its either bios is not set to boot from cdrom first, or cdrom drive is faulty or the cd is faulty.
