First Build, Please Review

1. Our IPC did not go down.
2. Your trying to start an argument.
3. Intel is not lying to its customers about the core count. If you want to compare them sight for sight, the 2100 is a quad core and the 2600 is a 8 core. That is going by AMDs marketing strategy.
4. If you buy what you need then you don't need to overclock. So amd can **** themselves with the unlocked processors. Intel too.

Subscribe to Newegg deals with your email. I ordered my build over the course of a month, but the first things I ordered were on a special and wouldn't change price a lot in a month or so. (EG, case, PSU, RAM, and DVD drive.) I snagged those while they were on a deal and ordered my CPU, GPU, Mobo at the end. Spreading out is ok, as long as it's no longer than a month or so.

I saved about 100 bucks using their newegg deals.

1. But the heat gain killing overclocking on air, might as well went down. Isnt going to do you any good if you can get a few 100 mhz more out of sandy. So by your standards Ivy is just as much a failure as Zambezi. Even more so really because Zambezi can overclock way better then the Phenom II to make up the IPC and more.

2. No more then you are by over glorifying one product and just pointing out the negatives of the other. Its called being a fanboy.

3.No, because Intel is just using Hyperthreading, no more then running two threads on one core. AMD has hardware to back it up, where two threads are run on two different sets of pipelines. It just shares the FP scheduler and L2 cache. Technically it is two cores. If the IPC was the same between the two Zambezi would slaughter it. It even matches the 2500/2600 in some benchmarks having slower IPC.

4.Its not my fault your not confident enough to overclock and have a stable system or have a phobia that it will blow up and freak you out. The next comment just proves the fact your a fanboy in your handicaps and your options are motivated and askew.

Done with this, waste of time.

I am confident enough to overclock a processor. My current one is overclocked, and both video cards are overclocked. I just don't think that processors being able to overclock is a very good reason to buy one. By your logic if you would be able to get a Pentium MMX that is unlocked and could get 4 GHz then it would be just as viable as a 2500k or a FX 8120.

Talking out of both sides of your face. You dont think processors that overclock well isnt a good reason to buy it, god please dont dig your hole deeper. Plus that last comment. You have no idea of CPU architecture really and just ramble nonsence to make up for your subjective B/S.

As I said there.

Seriously, he's a new user looking to buy a PC, what kind of a forum is going to criminalize and place a hostile environment on his thread when he's simply seeking advice from fellow computer enthusiasts.

Now, on the note of this thread. As far as OCing, you probably won't need to do so, I'm going to be purchasing a new rig for GW2 as well and mine is a few hundred dollars more than yours but after researching and reading studies, I have decided to go with an intel processor and motherboard, nothing against AMD, it is just the choice that I have made based upon performance.

Completely agree. But a new user doesnt need to have his opinions askew becuse of childest fanboyism. I'm not a fanboy of either. Just pointing out how being a fanboy is so stupid and acting like god makes Intel and AMD is crap. Both are completely false.

A straight up statement. Which I wish was more of around here.

Thank you, I understand what you're saying. I was just a bit thrown off by the seeming flame-war that was arising. I know I posted a thread similar to his just the other night and if I saw that type of argument taking place on it, I would lose a bit of respect for the forum as well as the users involved in the situation. I was originally siding with AMD but since my primary function is going to be gaming and I'm not afraid to shell out a bit of extra money, I decided to go with intel due to the price/performance ratio. AMD I feel is better for a lower budget build and I have even recommended it to other posters based upon the fact that the lower end Phenom, although they are not -low-end, can do better than some of the lower end intel processors. But, the i3 2120 that was reviewed in that post I placed earlier from Tomshardware would be the CPU for me if I were going value.
