Graduation PC Build

I hate for my 1st post to be the "HELP ME BUILD A NEW PC" thread, but it is what it is.

This is where I am so far:

Case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811139005
PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139031
MoBo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157293
CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115072
RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231314
GPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130593
SSD: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148441
Cooling: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103065

I'm dead set on the case since a friend purchased it back before Christmas and I was sold.

I'm trying to strike a balance between performance and cost effective. I will be using the PC for both gaming and work. I'm trying to run SW:TOR, Diablo 3, and BF3 at either max settings or as close to max as possible at 1920x1080.
I will also need this box for GNS3 so I can run my CCNP Route&Switch labs as well as different VM's of Windows Server 2008 R2 and Fedora 15.

Let me know what I can trim while still being able to reach my goals.

Thanks in advance! :D

well for sure BF3 will not run on max with a 570. you need 2 or 3 580s to run every last little thing on max with that game and maintain a great framerate but that gpu should be decent enough to play the game and enjoy it

False. A 570 will have no problem maxing BF3. 2 or 3 580? Hah. Good joke.

Oh, and don't worry about your first post being that. My very first post was the exact same thing. HELP ME BUILD. Well now I have over 500 posts and have learned a lot.

Actually, being technical here, a 570 will not get a constant above 60fps on BF3. You do need 2 580s for 1080, ultra settings, with forced 4xAA and never dropping below 60fps.

But yes, one 570 will be fine. You'll get 40-60fps on ultra and 50+ on high settings.

Spend the extra $30 on a 3570k?

Yeah I guess. I'm not real picky about having a solid 60 fps all the time. Anything above 30 I'm happy with. By then it comes down personal preference.

Good stuff guys, thank you.

+1 Internets to Benny. On the topic of the Mushkin SSD, it's got some horrible reviews about the SSD dying. Would you take a shot at it anyway? I'm not one to take huge leaps of faith when it comes to spending money.

I already did "take a shot" (see sig below) :). I've only been using it a few days-week and everythings working perfect so far.
What horrible reviews are you talking about? Like the ones on Newegg or similar? You have to take those with a grain of salt. Not very reliable and could be user error. If you want to reference a bad review, it can probably be explained away. The best way imo to look at user feedback is the brands site and look for anyone with questions or an issue with the drive your thinking of buying. Then read what was said about that question or issue to find out the real reason for the issue. With that said, all manuf'rs of parts will have to rma one every once in a while. No way around that..

It has a 3 year warranty. If it dies within then, they will replace it. All components have people that have dead on arrival or parts that have died. Its a part of the business.

To OP, also keep in mind that when your product works you're normally just going to use it and not bother write a review, but if it fails you want to complain and let some one know, so you would write a review. However, don't discredit all bad reviews, but keep that in mind.
