Some people have low spec computers and have trouble finding a game to play. no need to worry I have some games that you can play on very low spec computers.

Here are the specs I have that work with these games:
Intel core 2 duo proccessor T5550 1.83 GHz
1GB RAM
Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family

There is a program that will help allot and it is found here: http://www.3dfxzone.it/dir/tools/3d_analyze/download/
It will help you out allot if you don't have a great graphics card. (doesn't work on all games)

Here is the list of games that will work and I will add to it in future as I find more games.

1.
Runescape
http://runescape.com/

Browser bassed mmorpg runs fine with no lag.

2.
Realm of the mad god
http://store.steampowered.com/

Runs on steam runs perfectly with no lag although some may not like the graphics style but really it is about the gameplay not graphics.

3.
Age of empires online
http://store.steampowered.com/
http://ageofempiresonline.com/en/

Fun strategy game, needs all graphic settings down in order to play with no lag.

4.
Minecraft classic
http://www.minecraft.net/

Lags allot but when fog is on level 1 it cancels lag.

5.
Minecraft
http://www.minecraft.net/

Lags on newer version but on older beta versions play fine with random lag spikes.

6.
Ace Of Spades
http://www.ace-spades.com/

minecraft/fps game fun to play no lag with decent gameplay.

7.
King Arthurs Gold
http://www.kag2d.com/en/

Terraria like game still in alpha so there may be bugs, other then that works fine.

UPDATE 28/5/12

Got rid of league of legends and Battlefield Heroes.
Added Ace of Spades and King Arthurs Gold

Seems that is a X3100 graphics chip (965GM). Should be able to play many of the older games on that, something like Global Operations (DX8) or Medal of Honor European Assault (DX8 i think). I could max them with a 8400m GT witch is about double your card, so you should be able to run medium with them on an acceptable frame rate.

Welcome to CF, great introductory post/guide. I've had luck with a few others myself(on a 386!), not online gaming though. Wolfenstein 3d, Quake, Simcity and Simcity 2000, Powerslave, Duke Nukem 3d, Civilization, Descent, Lemmings. I didn't get the best framerates, but they were reasonably playable.

if you like RTS like Command and conquer, then you should be great with most of the older CNC games, or a free one would be warzone 2100. The info that I am seeing at http://www.vtol.us/ says it needs a DX6 3d card, but they have probably updated it from that.

Most 3D games I've tried haven't worked even if the graphics wasn't that great.

I will try them out and probably add to the list of games.

Its has very bad gfx but its a very good RTS.

If your running vista or windows 7, make sure you right click your desktop and select personalise or resolution and keep that screen up as theres a weird graphics bug on w7 or vista. This usually fixes it.

What do you mean by 'keep the screen up' ?

keep the Personalization or Resolution screen open.
