670 can run same clock as 680?

Hey all,

the nvidia geforce 670 runs the same chip as the 680 right?
can i overclock the 670 to the same speed as the 680 without any problems?

cuz it is the same chip so the same clock speed would be fine right?

Yep you can probably overclock a GTX 670 just fine, not sure about to 680 speeds though. To be honest, the 670 is really fast anyway, so you may not even need to overclock it. If you do, make sure you've got good cooling/airflow. :)
 
yeah i read something that the 670 has fewer power caps than the 680 so i thought it would nog get enough power for that or someting...

well a core cluster, and that's part of why it has less caps as it doesn't need as many. might be able to bios flash it to a 680 but then power could become an issue meaning instability and lowered clocks.
