That's a VGA cable. I would use the DVI port directly instead of using the adapter.
RGB is not VGA. Use the DVI.
DVI-i will not connect to a DVI-d cable. It is forward compatible but not backwards.

No you can not. DVI-d cables have 4 pins around the slot ish looking thing. Ill circle it in the pic im attaching. The DVI-i port does not have a place for them to go. It will not attach.I think he meant a DVI-I port on video card. But surely DVI-D cable can connection to DVI-I port on video card.
