I have an hp pavilion a6457c I want to play diablo 3 would an upgrade of the power supply and graphics card be enough or is my computer too old

Spend the extra $250 and get a $500 pc that you build. It will be a good pc, fine for diablo 3 on max smooth.

Upgrading processors in OEM machines such as this HP can be tricky because stuff is locked down to prevent you from modifying the machines and then breaking your warranty.

Get what Claptonman said for the time being in the other thread, if it's still bad then build a new system using the video card and ower supply you have just bought.
