Acer 8930G power problems

Hi team!

My Acer 8930G keeps randomly switching off. There seems to be a problem with its power socket, the battery light keeps flickering. I tried changing the charger/cord but no luck.

Can I fix this my self? If not where should I hand it in for it to be repaired?

The most common issue with laptops is the charging port gets loose and needs to be resoldered/replaced so that it makes good contact with the motherboard again. Usually you can tell this is the problem when you plug it in and wiggle it next to the port and the light flickers on and off.

This is exactly my problem. How hard is it to resolder?
 
You have to take the motherboard out to do it. If you have no experience, you are better off taking it in to have it done.
