I have a Corsair Force GT 60GB SSD which Windows sees 43.7GB out of 60GB. I got 22.6GB free of 43.7GB, what happened to my other 12GB's?

FYI, hibernation is disabled.

So instead Windows thinks you have a 43.7GB of total hard drive space available, right? When you installed Windows 7, how much space did it say was available after you formated the drive?

Did you move your paging file to your HDD?

Yes. SSD reads,"None". 1TB reads,"System managed".

Not sure how much space was available after format.

Edit: Yeah, Windows thinks I got 43.7 of total SSD space, instead of 60GB, or atleast 55GB after format.

You know what, it's my fualt. I forgot when I installed Windows I left 12GB untouched because I was told that my SSD would be faster and last longer. In Disk Management it shows 100MB system restore, 43.8GB Windows Professional, and 12GB Unallocated.

The idea is to not fill the drive while keeping all the flash available so the controller can easily use it if it wants to put data there. MLC can have 2 bits of data per cell. If atm a cell has 1 or 2 bit(s) and the controller needs that cell, that bit(s) will be moved to an available cell. So you want clean available flash for it to be moved to. When one starts getting too full the controller will move data, so it can move the data it needs to move, in order to free up the cell(s) it needs for the current command. Make sence? That's why when a drive gets too full it will work twice as hard, using cycles and wearing flash cells to do so, and slow down because its moving things more that once.
Having said that, your ok because you have 22 available outa 43.:)
You can extend c:\ and still keep that 12gb(if that's how much you want)by not putting more than 43gb on the whole space.
