i7 975X vs. i7-3820

What's your thought on this? My friend is selling the 975X for 200$... I'm having hard time deciding..

well if you look at this chart, the 3820 wins in I think every benchmark bar one or two. The 975X uses more power and is generally hotter. I'd go the 3820 if I were you.

Because the X denotes extreme edition, it cost 1000 bucks when it was released 3 years back, its kinda cheap by those standards now.

The 3820 is a much newer chip and runs on a newer socket than the old 975X does. I'd go for the 3820.
