Do I need a wireless card?

Hi all,

I just got given a Dell Inspiron 1150 laptop and I wanted to get internet on it,it's very old and it doesn't have a wireless card.do I need to buy one or can I just use a wireless usb adapter? If I need to buy a wireless card, will buying a wireless usb adapter help to extend the range of the wiress connection,so it will reach to my backyard?

I'd go internal. Makes it easier. Just pick up a cheap DW1470 on eBay and then download the driver from the Inspiron 1150 driver page.

No. You'll only run off one adapter.
