Hi guys! Great site you have here. I have read and read and read and think I might have it figured out. I haven't kept up with the newest cards coming out so I was going to have you wise sages check for compatibility probs and make sure I have all my I's dotted and T's crossed. Also if there is a cheaper/more efficient substitution for me somewhere. I will link the pcpartspicker and also list out the components for people who do not like clickies.

Also if someone could open a microcenter near me that would be wunnerfull!!:o

Thank you all for your help.

That's a good build there. :good: It may be worth getting an i5 3570K though, it's a newer chip and overclocks just as well as the 2500K did/does. :) I'd also maybe a bit more money into the motherboard and get an Extreme6 if you can.

It's a great build otherwise!

I tinkered with the i5 3570k and I know the stock and mild OC's is better for it but is there a noticeable performance difference between the 2500k and the 3570k? And between the Ex4 and 6? Reason why I ask is my budget was 1000 and I have already cheated a bit, haha!

Would it be worth it to wait for the newer Nvidia GPUs or is the 7850 going to be good for awhile?

Thanks for all the help again! I am getting excited to build this!

I recently got that exact case and motherboard. Thing with the motherboard i that it only came with 2 SATA cables so make sure you get 1 more since you have 3 SATA devices.

These might make things look different. The memory is expensive. And I think it's too tall for the 212. G.Skill 1600 C8 is only 2$ more, and C9 like the Corsair is about 9 less.
I like the GA-Z77X-UD3H.

The case is $2 more at NE right now. Less if your paying shipping or tax.
NE's 2500k is only $5 more.
The burner is the same or cheaper depending on if the BIz has shipping fees.
All in all, worth it to shop at 1 place imo.

Yeah, I have heard of some crowding issues with the Veng and the 212. What is the difference between C8 and C9 ram? Timings? or Latency? and what is optimal? Sorry for all the questions. Tired of buying prebuilt so I am diving into this head first!

Thanks again all for the help. And no one has built a microcenter close to me yet!! :)

170 dollar 2500k there. Nuts. I may wait til I take a trip to Dallas/St Louis and get one. 40 dollar difference!

Yeah, you will have issues with the vengeance and the hyper 212. However, I just used the other channel with mine. Use the 2nd and 4th memory slot instead of the 1st and 3rd.

Ok go for the 2500K and the Gigabyte board which others are recommending, and yeah the 7850 is going to be good for quite a while so I'd say keep with that.

Thanks again for all the help! Ordered some of the parts and have a friend going to an MC to get the processor. I am excited to get started! I will let you know if I blow anything up!
