I need a build!

Hey guys. I know very little about computer hardware. What is the best build I could get for $800 ish dollars? I make a lot of music using ableton and I play SC2 and Diablo 3. Other then that I just browse and listen to music / watch videos.

Weapon of choice: $800 Rig *Black Heart* Description: The $800 workhorse, small enough to bring around, but big enough to hold most components. Don't want to have your computer always connected to the modem? A WiFi adapter is included in the list. Plus, it has fast Ram, so you can compress videos faster, load your WoW maps faster, etc.! Using all name brand components, nothing will go wrong. With one of the best processors available, a Intel i5-3570K is a overclockable quad core processor! The motherboard is by AsRock, a commonly used budget brand of motherboards, and a subdivision of asus, with it being black to match your case, and using the newest intel chipset available, this is a great motherboard allowing you to overclock your i5-3570K! Also, one of the best budget Graphics Cards avialable, the 6870 can put all settings on high on all but the most intensive games! With a modular power supply so you can remove the cables you don't need, with a case that has good cable management, you will have a great looking system inside and out!

*Need aftermarket cooler for overclocking (Cooler master Hyyer 212, Noctura NH-D14, etc.)

Get RipJaws-X 1600MHz RAM and an ASRock Z77 Extreme4 motherboard if you can. Otherwise it all looks good.

Why? The motherboard will put it $20 over budget, but it is better by a bit. The Ram though? Gskill is a realitivley new player, famous, but new. Crucial is just as good as Gskills, and cheaper. Fixed wishlist so you can easily add all wishlist items to cart.

Everything looks good, except the ram. Go for gskill, Corsair, or Kingston.

Is it me, or is there no OS in that list?

The Extreme boards are better than the one Pro ones. If he's running a 3570K, he wants a nicer board. I once had an i5 760 paired with a cheap and nasty Foxconn board. A great CPU but a poor board is not a combination you want. I'm not saying the Pro boards are bad, but as the Extreme isn't much more, you may as well go for it.

G.Skill RAM has been around for a while. Crucial memory isn't bad but certainly not the best. G.Skill and Corsair are the two brands I tend to recommend, sometimes Patriot make some good stuff too.
