hi all,
gonna upgrade my pc, here are some links from things I wanna buy:

- big fan for the side panel (got sharkoon case):

of the two, the artic freezer is the better cooler. If you can afford it, go to a V6GT (better and cheaper than the V8) or a H60.

for CF you can mix it with any card as long as they have the same chipset, but the entire setup will default to the lowest end card specs.

So there will be no advantage if I take a overclocked one or not?
And if I take 2gb version, makes that any sense?
 
if your current cards are not overclocked, then it will run at the speeds that you are running now. And if you have 1GB cards, you will see no advantage at all with the 2GB card.
 
You won't be adding any V-RAM by getting a 2GB card and there is no point in getting an overclocked one, no.

How much V-RAM do your current 6870s have? If they are both 1GB and you get the 2GB card, you're still only gonna have 1GB of V-RAM. If they're both 2GB and you get the 2GB card, you'll still only have 2GB, not 6GB.

K, but for only a 24" 1080p is 1gb enough, not?

(got 2 xfx's from 1gb)
 
Well I use a 1GB Radeon HD 5870 with my 24" 1080p monitor it seems to be fine. I can max out pretty much all my game. 1GB should be enough - especially if you have 3 6870s in CrossFire.
 
1080p, you should be good. You might run into issues later on with too little vRAM though. You might as well sell your two 6870s and go for a 7870 or 7950 and be good. CF if you want to, but there would be no use, and you get teh 2GB you are looking for.

No gonna stay with 2 I think, I can play everything on ultra and play every game with no microstutter... bf3 with ~70 fps.
I think the rest of the upgrade will cost already some bit money :P
 
 
the artic freezer or the hyper 212. I have not herd of the other two, but the CM and AF are top notch coolers. Either will do fine for you.
 
I am not sure how high you could get it. 5 may be high. You may be able to do 4.6 or more, but I would not expect 5.

does cooling paste work?
I clocked my cpu to 4.9ghz ones with the stock cooler :P
It was like 54°C Idle and 80°C(or even more) loaded :D

If you're going to be using a 3570K, then 5.0GHz on air is going to make the CPU run pretty hot. For some reason, once overclocked the Ivy chips run hotter than the Sandy chips. I have my 2500K at a stable 4.3GHz with an AC Freezer 13, I have pushed it to 4.5GHz though and I reckon I could do 4.6GHz before I start having issues, so I'd say anywhere between 4.3-4.6GHz would be a sweet spot for the 3570K and either the Freezer Xtreme or the 212+.

You don't want the temps to really go beyond 70 or 75C at full load. My 2500K hits around 60-65C at full load, and 30-35C at idle usually.

I'm going with the 2600k, but I found other good coolers: thermaltake frio...
But there are 4 editions, the normal, the advanced, the extreme and the ock. I there much difference between these ?
In threads I only find 1 edition, and it seems to be better then 2 water cooling systems and better then the hyper 212+
