Why does every smart phone have higher pixels on the back, and lower on the front?

Wouldn't make more sense for both cameras to be the same pixels? Most phones have 5 mega pixel on the back, and 2 mega pixels on the front. What's up with that?

They probably think that that more people are going to be using the back camera so they should save some money and make the front camera not as good .

I mean really, how much more $ for 3 extra pixels on the front. Phones are already hundred of dollars, what's an extra 20-40 dollars when you just dropped 200-500 on a new phone. Just saying, its retarded if you ask me. Just give me my 2 full 5 Mega pixel cameras, plz.
