I was bored yesterday, and since im on vacation, I decided to go to the computer store.

Ended up grabbing a new G75, some SSD's, Corsair Ram..etc..(yay, laptop RAID-O)

heres a quick teaser as its still ripped apart...sorry for crap quality but my SLR was dead..

looks good. Must have cost a boatload though. Wish I had that kind of money sitting around to just buy a great laptop and RAID-0 SSDs. :(.

about 3 steps down from the best laptop available for this generation. (QX processors, 670m SLI, 7970m CF, 680m SLI). But amazing lappy none the less.
I cant wait for the Quadros based on the 670 to come out.

Can they really do SLI in a laptop? how they going to deal with the heat in that tiny space?

What I did was buy the "base" model of the G75. It was like 1299.99

I then bought the 2 Corsair sata3 SSD's (each has $40 rebate), Corsair Vengence ram kits (each has $20 rebate), and took the blu-ray out of my old G73.

It still has the 670GTX 3GB video card, which is pretty awesome--and the fact they finally put Raid capable chipset in the ROG lappy is awesomeness--

I just did 1 massive RAID-0 drive..so its like 447GB formatted, and its insanely fast.

Only lame thing, is Asus went back to the G73 ram layout,--so 2 slot accessible from back panel, but other 2 you need to undo all the screws and open the case--(took about 30 minutes)

Other than that--no trouble. It's super quiet too!!!

That the one with the 3D screen? ( first post in laptops )

No, I went with the "base" model. I guess it's the base model?? LOL

No 3D as I have no use for it-- and I knew I wanted to pick my own SSD's and Ram-- end up saving money and getting the upgrades I want!:)

I believe the G75 ranges from $1299 -to - $2299:eek:

and seriously thats just a ripoff-- there is even an option for a different CPU and the difference is so miniscule it doesn't come close to warranting the nearly $1000.00 price point inflation. --Even with added ram and hdd/ssd combo from factory.

On a side note-- Corsair Force GT Sata3 SSD's are freaking awesome!!
