So after finally getting my 680 4GB earlier today I had much fun seeing what it could do. And as I suspected, it ate everything I threw at it and is still very hungry :)

Now Iv run out of games that interest me :/ As I was gaming with my 8800GTS before, I honestly have not seen as big of a jump as I thought I would in terms of quality. I mean, GTA4 is really the only game where I notice the high settings are much better looking than medium. But games like Metro 2033 and Stalker dont look much different at all. Metro 2033 especially, I was playing at high settings on my G80 with a somewhat low resolution and cranked everything up with my new 680 and looks about the same to me (much higher framerate of course).

Played with all the tech demos I could find, ran all the benchmarks, and now Im bored. I feel like I wasted $650. At least until next year when hopefully some better looking games come to PC (really have high hopes for Far Cry 3).

Ran the Unigine benchmark thing and got 46.6FPS with everything max at 1080p. I want to get FSX soon but since steam doesnt seem to sell it I have to go out and find it.

Anyone know of any other good looking games for PC that may not be very well known? Aside from Crysis.

I think Skryim would look pretty good :).

Skyrim with texture mods and ENB. I recommend having a look at the Skyrim Total Enhancement Project for texture mods as the list is very comprehensive. When it comes to ENB I'd recommend having a look at all the different presets available or making a custom preset. injectSMAA is a great tool for anti-aliasing with good quality/performance value and it can be run as a proxy library with ENB.

While searching for games to play, I came across this on youtube:

A game that is still in production, but has a demo. For those of you really into cars, I would check it out! Iv had tons of fun building and tuning different kinds of engines. I cant wait until its finished. Im not preordering though, the game devs are kind of sketchy in terms of actually finishing the game. They said a release date would depend heavily on how many pre-orders they get and Im not one to put my money into a game that may never get finished.

yeh i have ma dirt 3 on highish settings with my gts 450 and yeh that game looks good g80ftw u played rigs of rods its also quite fun to play when bored

I had a GTS 450 before I got my 5870 and I could play Dirt 3 pretty well on the 450 too (not 1080p though, only 720p). It is a great game, visually stunning and has a great gameplay. The gymkharta challenges annoy me, but the rallying and the motorcross are my favourite events! :D

The witcher 2, and Battlefield 3.Metro 2033, But i guess you played that.Crysis 2 looks great, but definatly not the best.Crysis 3 is coming out, I think that will be the new top dog. What res are you playing at?

Yea I was playing rigs of rods earlier :p

I like RoR but the handling of the vehicles gets annoying pretty quick and the poor graphics quality also drives me away after I have had my crashing fun.

Yea I played Crysis 1 with this card no problem obviously, I might get back on that later it was kinda fun I was playing on the hardest setting so I got bored of it when I kept dying. I didnt like Crysis 2 so I dont have it anymore. And I have been playing everything at 1920x1080 30hz as I think thats as high as my TV will go which is what I am using via HDMI.

I may re-install Skyrim and check out the graphics mods for it.

Like I said, I think 1080p is as high as my TV will go. Its also as high as the games will allow me to select, making me believe that my TV will not support anything higher.

I bought the 4GB model as I wanted this card to last longer than my 8800 did.....so if I can get 5-7 years out of it I will be more than happy.

Im not gonna run out and buy a thousand dollar TV just to play at a higher resolution. I think 1080p looks fine. But I may hook my PC up to my Sony in the living room and see how it looks, that TV may go above 1080p. I know it can run at least 85hz at 1280x720. And I dont do ATi cards.

AFAIK TVs don't go over 1080p at all. You need a monitor to do that.

Here is my recommendation. Go enjoy games. You have a killer system. Play some games that are fun. I'd like to think that that is the reason that you got into system building in the first place.
