Quick Question About OS

Hey everyone!

I was wondering here, my computer has windows 7 ultimate installed on it, but can I format it with my windows 7 professional CD and install pro along?
Also can I do the same if my OS is Home Premium? I don't want to try it myself yet though, maybe I'll mess something up.

Thanks!

So you are wanting to do a dual boot of ultimate and pro? If so, then yes you can. You'll need to create a big enough partition to install the other OS.

No, you'll have to do a fresh install meaning all programs and data would be deleted. And you would have to use the key that came with the install cd. You can't use the key that came with the other OS.

Yea, that's what i meant, clean install, i would use my pro CD to first uninstall all data and then install windows pro from the same disk, I also have pro key, so it's not a problem, but is it possible? Uninstall ultimate with pro disk? And replace it with pro.

You don't uninstall it from the cd. You boot to the pro cd, delete all existing partitions, repartition and then install pro.

Just a question.
Windows 7 Ultimate is better than Professional. So why would you use Professional if you have Ultimate?
Just curious...
