Trying to build a cost effective gaming rig!

Hey there, I'm planning to upgrade my pc at the end of the summer. I have tried to put down some ideas for the build.
Here they are:

Motherboard: MSI Socket 1155 H77MA-G43 76 eur.
CPU: i5 3570k 212 eur
CPU cooler: Cooler Master CPU Cooler Hyper 212 Evo 30 eur
VGA: hd 7850 230 eur
RAM: AMD Performance Edition 8GB DDR3 (2x4GB) 1600MHz CL8 1.65V, Red HS 50 eur
Harddrive: OCZ Vertex 4 SSD 2.5"128GB SATA 6GB/s / Max Read: up to 535MB/s 140 eur+ my old harddrive 250 GB 140 eur
Case: INTER-TECH JY-230 Badger (500w PSU included) 30 eur

So here it is pretty much, any ideas how to reduce costs/improve performance would be appreciated :). I tried to get the costs down a bit by getting a cheaper case with a included PSU. Not sure, if it is a good idea or not. Hopefully the 500w PSU will be enough for this build (The PSU is called the SL-500). And about the harddrive situation, I don't exactly know if i need the expensive SSD harddrive, or i could just go and get another extra 500gb regular harddrive. So any input from you guys would be greatly appreciated :)

AFAIK, that RAM only works with AMD motherboard. To be safe, get some from Crucial, Kingston, Corsair, G.SKill or Samsung.

Okay thanks will do that, but what do you guys think about the graphics card, the harddrive issue as mentioned before (will use the computer for gaming for the most part), and the case+ the PSU.

The graphics card is good. An HD 7850 will be a good card for a little while yet.

You'll need a much better power supply though. For a 7850, something like a Corsair CX 600 or TX 650 would be good and get a nice case too. Corsair Carbide 300R or Cooler Master HAF 912.

That SSD is pretty good but the Crucial M4 and the SanDisk Extreme are both better SSDs.

Thanks for the quick reply. Atleast now i know i shouldn't use a cheap power supply like that :). But in your opinion do you think that the SSD is worth the extra cost for a gaming rig? I mean you can't install too many games on such a small drive as that.

Get the SSD and a large 1TB or 2TB hard drive. If you're concerned about space then ditch the SSD and get a 2TB Seagate Barracuda. You want a 7200 RPM drive with a 32MB or 64MB cache buffer. If you go SSD + HDD, install Windows and programs on the SSD and games on the HDD.

No way does one Radeon 7850 need a 600W PSU. An Antec NEO 520W is enough power to OC it to 1 GHz.
Remember it's not just the 7850 which is going to be in his system though. Looks to me like he's going to have an overclocked 3570K amongst other stuff, and it's probably wise to go for a 600W if that's the case. As the 600W units aren't much more expensive than the 500/520W units, I'd say go for it. If he got a TX 650 he could add another 7850 in the future and be comfortable too.

Okay I will get the memory that you suggested. I will check my financial situation that i have at the end of the summer, will see then if i have the option to get the extra SSD drive : ). About the 7850, it is pretty much the best card at its price range right? It's just that it is quite difficult to choose the right graphics card, the proccessor for me was quite easy to choose actually.

Yeah, at that price point, the 7850 is a good choice. Not gonna get any better until the new Nvidia chips come out.

+1 I'm still wondering what the 660 is going to bring to the table. At the moment for the price the Radeon HD 78xx cards are owning.
