$750 Computer Build (OS Included), Need Help Finding Parts

The title says it: I have a $750 budget for a new computer that I'm going to build, and this price includes an OS. I was thinking Windows 7 Home Premium OEM (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832116986), which is $100. Preferably can run most modern games on high graphics settings if possible. Also, I'm not sure if this is a given but please find all parts on Newegg. Any help would be greatly appreciated! :)

id get the professional version for a little more, if you chose to upgrade past 16 gig of ram at some point it may come in handy, your limited to 16 with home premium.

he wants it for gaming and even for design crap you never HAVE to have over 16GB's.

Just the tower right? not peripherals, monitors and stuff?
 
I won't tell you the exact model, you can choose those according to your budget. I'll just tell you some good brands.

For Power Supply go for Corsair. They make really great Power Supplies that will give off the power that is advertised. They also have very good safety features.

For the Motherboard go with Gigabyte or Asus. I prefer Gigabyte, but I'm not sure if their cheaper boards are any good.

For the RAM I'd go with G.Skill. If you're just gaming then 8GB will be enough.

For the SSD I'd go with either Corsair, SanDisk or Crucial. They all make very nice Solid State Drives.

For the HDD go for either Western Digital or Seagate. Stay away from Hitachi, they make crappy drives.

The Graphics Card is up to you. Some people prefer Nividia, others prefer AMD. When choosing a brand though, go for good brands like: EVGA, Gigabyte, Asus, MSI, Sapphire. Stay away from brands like ZOTAC.

For the CPU there are two choices. Intel or AMD. Intel is the better brand although they cost a little more.

There is no build. You cant copy the shopping carts address. Also, at S3, for a Power supply, Corsair is the most known, but seasonic makes many corsair units, so seasonic would be at or above corsair, XFX is also maid by Seasonic. So, XFX,Corsair, Seasonic would be great. Some others that would be good: Antec, NZXT, and OCZ. Also, currantly, Intel is better then any AMD, from i3 and up. i3 is arugably better than a 4100, but any i5 or ni7 will beat any AMD currnently.

A- Member was suggesting what brands to look at, not a ps history lesson. I think all S3's suggestions were good.

The stock cpu cooler will be fine as long as you don't overclock too much and could get 3rd party cooler after mir's come back.
If you need it to be less go for 6870 and Seasonic 520w
This build has all quality parts and will run most/all modern games on high graphic settings.
 
Why anyone would buy the FX range knowning what we know is unbelievable. The i3 if money is tight or the i5 if it isnt. The FX ranges is a massive fail - but an even bigger fail would be to buy one.

Yea I would go with the i3 to. Plus less heat and power consumption. The only reason I got an AMD because it was less than $79 for a quad core.

Thanks for the input, I've been out of town the last couple days but I put together this build, which also includes case & monitor, so I've bumped up the budget to $900. Any input on this build would be great!

All looks fine I'd say. I'll quickly look over it again and post back. :)

EDIT: OK I don't know much monitors so I can't really help there; but the rest looks good with the updated graphics card, case and RAM. :)

Even tho this ps says 520w vs the CX600w, it's still a much better ps and would be an upgrade. Made by the same manufctr'r who Corsair uses for their higher end (which the CX isn't) platforms. Its bronze rated, has enough power for future gpu upgrade, modular, and is $2 less.

Yeah, your right. By the time he uses the full 16GB's capacity, it will be time to ungrade anyway, hardware and software. But if it was me, I'll still go with Professional. For only $40 more you get "Windows XP Mode", and a limit of 192GB's of RAM, your not going to use it all, but it's nice to have that option.
