Looking to Upgrade

I am currently looking to upgrade a PC I bought off of Newegg in late March, which wasn't the brightest idea looking back on it now. I purchased it because it was in my range and seemed to offer more than the competitors for the price. It also was supposed to come without all of the bs that often gets thrown on there, which it did; so that was a plus. I am a noob when it comes to actually toying with my own PC, but do have knowledge of PC's.

It was the CyberPowerPC GamerUltra 2123

Specs
Motherboard: A55M-HVS
Processor: AMD A4-3400 Llano 2.7GHz which is a 64 bit dual core
Memory: 2 Patriot 4GB sticks of DDR3
HDD: Hitachi 500GB SATA-II 3.0 Gb/s 7200RPM
Graphics: AMD Radeon HD 6410D Graphics
Power Supply: Apevia Turbolink ATX-TL500W-BK 12V 500W
CD/RW: Asus 24x
Case: Sigma Pluto
OS: Windows 7 Premium 64bit
Monitor: Vizio 42" LCD TV

I am going to upgrade the HDD to a 1tb and want to crossfire an amd radeon, but am not sure which one. I will most likely also be upgrading the Ram to 16gb which is the max it can hold, but probably won't do that right off the bat. I also realize I will have to change the power supply, but have no clue on what will be big enough; but am pretty sure the current 500w will not suffice. I typically bought the PC just to use Photoshop and Dreamweaver with, but would also like to play some games like Skyrim and Arkham City and no it will not be able to do what I want it to do; if it can even limp into these games.

I would appreciate advice on what type of power supply, what kind of radeon card i should get, what power supply would be the best, and who makes a decent 1tb hard drive for a fair price.

Thanks in advance and all advice is appreciated.

16GB of RAM is pretty pointless right now.

Highest card you Crossfire with is a 6450.

If you want a Terabyte just toss in another 500gb one.

Right, I wasn't thinking about upgrading the Ram until later on. I just want to be able to support some games and increased my HDD from the 500 it is now. I was thinking about adding another 500 to it, but wasn't sure if there were any TB ones out there that could rival in the price and were decent.

Well if you're going to buy one it would make sense to just get a terabyte if you have the extra 25 dollars.

for that stuff a cx600 is way overkill, 430 can run it easily. But i would just go for something like a 6770 or 6850 instead, that combo will only give you a few fps more than a plain 6450 which isn't much, and i think you actually could crossfire with a 6570 but idk and it's not that powerful. Really, i'd see if you can support a a6 or a8 processor so you'll have a quad core, then get a better graphics card, then get a hard-drive, then think about ram, but i agree that there is no reason at all for that computer to need over 8gb's

Yeah 600 is overkill but assuming for upgrades in the future it's a good idea. Especially if you're suggesting as much as new CPU and GPU entirely.

That's not actually a bad idea. It can support an A8 and I can grab one off newegg for 119. What kind of graphic card would you suggest after adding that?

cant tell you if it will fit, but they are not very hot. Running 100% fan, which is quite a bit quieter than a HD4870s fan at 75%, it will run 45* idle, or 78ish when gaming.

They run hotter than the newer versions, but there not bad. I wouldn't worry about them burning up. I'd say most that have had this issue is because of OC and not watching the temps. As for fitment, I'm not sure. You would have to get the specs. for the gpu and open up your case and measure. You can always go with something like this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130604, but you still have to see if you have the room. This card is 9" long so measure your case. Lots of good cards and the psu I suggested will run them fine. Anywho GL on your decision.....:good:
