Which is the best for gaming on games like CoD, GTA 4, Crysis 2 on good settings? Is the graphics card better? Which would be best? I went through all the building ideas and I really just don't want too risk it.

These ^^ Thanks

Edit: Please don't look at the price, they're all within my budget, just rank them in order of how good for gaming they'd be

Well the 6850 is the better graphics card (in most cases) see here: http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/536?vs=539.

But the build with the 7770 has a better CPU (It has 8 cores where the other one has 4 cores).

Honestly, I recommend building your own computer. It's really simple and you can choose the parts to your needs.

they're both pretty much the same except the first one has a 7770, the second has a 6850 but I think if you do a speed test they both perform the same also the second one has a nicer case I suppose other than that check their power supplies and from there on its all personal preferance

I recommend building your own too. The FX-8120/8150 which one of those builds uses is overkill for gaming, an FX-4100 will game just as well, especially paired with the better graphics card.

Shove a Nvidia Graphics card in the second one. Ding.

There's nothing wrong with ATI/AMD cards. In fact, I find that usually these days I'm recommend more AMD cards to people than I am NVIDIA cards, probably because in the sub £200 range AMD pretty much owns NVIDIA right now.

GAHH! I just bought the first one with the 7770 to find that you say the other one would be better :( Would it really make a difference?

PS - I went on that website for FPS results and the 6850 won :O :(

Won't make all that much of a difference to be honest.

I'm selling my laptop right now for £250 so I guess if it bothered me that much I could switch it out :) What graphics card would you suggest with a budget of 200-250? And how easy is it swapping them out?

Well if you bought that PC from eBay you'd probably need a new power supply as well. As I said, they usually come with bad power supplies.

For £200-250 I'd say a Radeon HD 7850 or a 7870 is probably the best you can get now. Or a GTX 570 perhaps. The 7850 is pretty much equal to a 570 http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/549?vs=518 a 7870 would be faster.

Changing the cards is pretty easy.

I might be knowledge a little about video card but most time ATI (Sorry i still called it ATI instead of AMD) make good price and fastest. Only one thing that Geforce have it and ATI don't have it is a Physx engine. Nivida is great for linux and better support but it is high price.

Next time always check at hwcompare.com or hwbot.org for better video card:D

Its not high priced. Especially if you go back a generation or 2. the 480 for example is the best card for the money on newegg, and can be had for less than a 5870 for better performance in everything if you buy used. Does not even run hot. 77* on full load at full fan.

I personally can never recommend a ATI for anything above gaming as they just don't work. Drivers are horrid, and they don't fold, and quite frank;y they don't model well either.

I agree with the comments about folding, but remember BitCoin Mining works much better on Radeons than it does on GeForces and the drivers have been fine for me with my 5870. I had issues with NVIDIA drivers earlier on in the year, everybody just has different experiences with drivers - they will work better for some people than others, just the way it goes.

Both family of cards have their ups and downs at the end of the day.

:good: This.

I prefer nVidia cards myself, but I think the fact of the matter is both companies make a good product. Its all in who youd rather have pushing out your graphics the red team or the green team. The 7970 is on par with the 680 so even if the 680 is slightly faster in a few games it doesnt matter as both cards will max out any of todays games with no problem.

I like and use both NVIDIA and AMD cards. I just 'so happen' to have a 5870 in my main rig right now because for the money I paid for the 5870 (£100) there was nothing else out there which could beat it, not even second hand stuff. Still use NVIDIA cards in my other rigs, specifically the 6600 GT and 9800 GT, old cards I know, but they're still good for their age.
