New monitor

So I'm looking for a new monitor, since mine has a 5ms response time and I'd like a slightly larger one. I saw this one with a 1ms response time:

Seems like a good deal for $300. Or I was thinking I could go for a 120hz monitor?

It'd only be slightly bigger, but I'd rather have the better specs for the money than the size.

Any comments? Response time vs 120hz? Would I even be able to take advantage of the 120hz? I usually play with vsync on, which I might not be able to do with the 120hz on some of the better graphics games.
 
if your intent on spending 300 on a monitor, the acer would be the better of the two, 1080 does not scale well above 24 inches, so it would look much more crisp at 23" than 27" and its 3D ready i believe? even better.
 
i have a friend with the 27 inch dell...just makes me see more of a reason to go with the dell wfp's in that range... just no comparison to the dpi on the dell vs that 300 dollar bugger

but to each their own.

and with the dell monitor, it has a better stand...more inputs, and better screen calibration...my 2405 is many years old and just beginning to yellow due to what i think is the age..
 
Well, yeah, of course I'd go with a 2560x1440 or 1600 if I had the money, but I can't see myself spending that much money.

And I could go to a store and see what the 27" are like for myself. I just have seen conflicting views on 27" at 1080p. Some people say its pixelated, others say its fine. That's what I'm wondering.
 
I did reply back to you about that. I haven't gamed on it much since I got it. But from what I have, I haven't noticed any issues with it being pixelated or anything. I only play fps games.

I don't have anything on my "wall" recently from you.

But ok. Just gotta think about it a little bit.
 
would be cool if stores would let you take a computer and hook them up to it, and try it before you buy XD just sucks doing this kinda thing off etailers...
