Suggestion for a CPU cooler?

Im using an i7 3770k and a CM hyper 212 evo. The temperature at idle (3.5ghz) is 47-50, which i think is too high. I need a good cooling solution because I'm doing rendering and will be OCing at 4.4ghz. So far, I've looked at the Corsair H series, the Antec H2O 620 and Noctua D14. They seem to perform well but from the reviews, there were a lot of issues like piss poor customer service or noisy parts or poor build quality.
I've just upgraded my CPU, MOBO and PSU (used up a large chunk of this month's pay). I would love to have a mid-range cooler so I don't have to spend a fortune. I'm still open to the above coolers, just a bit more skeptical than other products.

ps: I know I mentioned some other temperatures for my set up in other posts but I guess those were just outliers. Readings have been more or less stable now.

The h80 seems to be great.
I'm keeping that in mind. It's definitely a good cooler though it's quite a bit more than I want to spend. May have to resort to it if all else fail.

What are your load temps? Try a second fan on the 212+?
My load temp at 4.4ghz is about 74 on average (this was taken during a 5 hours rendering job, 100% load). I've been looking at some stats for CM hyper dual fan config and it does seem to offer a cheap alternative. Which 120mm fan would you suggest?

Personally, I'd jump on a " Scythe Mine' " if I could find one of the original ones. They discontinued it and brought out a new model, the " Scythe Mine' 2 ", which is quite a bit bigger.

But if you are ready for this, I read a test report of 25 different high performance CPU Coolers, and the " Scythe Mine' " was the smallest of the lot, and the only one that met the mobo manufacturer weight limit requirements, and yet in terms of performance it came in second, and darn near tied for first. Wish they hadn't discontinued it !!

Unfortunately, it's not sold here in Singapore :( It does look like a good alternative to the Noctua D14 with the dual sink config.

I've heard good things about the Arctic Cooler (as seen in my signature). vistakid10 has one if you want a recommendation :P.

The Freezer 13 is a great cooler. My 2500K idles at around 30C with the Freezer 13 and at 100% load hits about 60-65C, never really goes over 70C. Recommended, especially as it was very cheap, less than £20. Just be aware though it is quite large, here's a shot:

I struggled to get 4 full-height DIMMs installed underneath that cooler. I did get them to fit though, just...

damn that's a sexy cooler! I will look out for it at my local shops. Sadly, over here, they mostly sell CM, Thermalright, Noctua, Zalman and Xigmatek.

Right now, I'm thinking of adding a 2nd high RPM/CFM fan to my CM hyper 212 as a temporary solution. Suggestions?

You can get the Freezer 13 from Newegg http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835186039 Arctic Cooling, Noctua and Corsair are probably my favourite brands when it comes to cooling. :)

Sticking another fan on your 212+ would be good I reckon, just make sure it doesn't drastically change the airflow or anything like that.

Not sure how much better the Freezer 13 is than a 212+ or even if it's better at all, but I've had no problems with mine. Bear in mind too that mine is mounted the wrong way up, it should be on its side sucking air in from the front of the case ideally, but having all 4 RAM bays populated prevented me from doing that. :(

Just to update, I got myself a Corsair SP120 2350 RPM fan for a push-pull config (absolutely quiet btw). The temperature on idle (3.5ghz) is about 35-37 and 70 at 4.4ghz, 100% load.
