How do you make a clone?

Hi, Cybertechs,

I am going to make a clone and so I need to know what the basic elements are in this process:good:

Key elements are basic steps that need to be done no matter what clone program that you use:cool:

I am trying to make a backup, and have just recently lost an entire 20 gigs of data. I want to make sure that I am doing it correctly so that this does not happen again:mad:

Nice Link

But why the heel would you need internet connection for this process?

I don't want all my data streaming over the internet. This is a major security risk!!!!!

You can make a clone without internet connection!

P.s.
The question on my threads page was not highlighted, so I assumed that no one had replied. I accidently clicked on it and found out that this was not the case. I don't understand what the highlighted ones mean.

To answer your question once and for all - if you want to see if somebody has replied to your thread the best way to do so is to just keep looking back at your thread every now and then see if any new posts have come.

Right to answer your second question, there are many programs you can use to clone disks, most of them not requiring an internet connection at all. They all pretty much work in the same sort of way.

Because I found lots of thread that weren't bold face and they had replies. I didn't know they were there, and I could have sworn that I did not looked at them yet, because otherwise, I know I would have answered them!

Do you think these Recovery Programs would have been good enough to recover the lost data?:

Gparted Recovery Live CD
Smart Partition Recovery
Active Partition Recovery Enterprise v6

See my answer in your other thread, and please only ask questions (such as your above one) in only one thread to save needless cross-talk.

Note
I had asked you this question

But I had not asked the OTHER person this question. I was specifically asking HIS opinion on this other thread. As the Issue, as of yet, is still NOT solved...

Note #2
If I joined the forum to ONLY talk to you, maybe we could just exchange email addresses and I will ONLY talk to you. But otherwise, maybe other people might some ideas too...

The problem is you are creating a lot of cross-talk, which makes things confusing. The same people answering in this thread answer in other sections too.

Okay, so who should take this question him or you?
