Please post your exact specs. Do this by downloading and running PC Wizard from my sig. Go to FILE, SAVE AS and click OK. Copy the contents out of that text file into this thread. Also post what PSU you have. It will be better in all likelihood to simply get a new GPU.

psu is x-power pro 600w

CPU support list doesn't show that cpu, id say save your dough and get something more significant. Its a AM2+ cpu, if it was a phenom ii 955 or such id say you are good, but its a 940.

if you want a hdmi a new gpu is the best thing, a new motherboard will deactivate your current windows if it is an oem version and that motherboard and all new ones are ddr3 so new ram would be required.

and that is a low quality psu, there is a chance it will blow and when it does it can take other parts with it if it sends a surge through your computer.

It can, but you are better off getting a audio cable to run to the TV from teh computer and keep the 4870. It is a fine GPU unless you are running games, and still even then. It will do BF3 at medium.

Using this method you are out less than $10 to get your system to go to your TV, and you will never match your 4870 for $10 period.

im going to go ahead and do that. thanks guys

Your next spend needs to be a new PSU.

Although it will work, running a 4870 on a PSU with only 30A available to it and other components (except the CPU) is silly. Thats only 360W running a card that by itself uses 160W and thats without overclocking.

If you have the coin, upgrade the PSU.
