This is my second try with building this desktop (after sending the motherboard and the CPU back for a exchange for the same motherboard and CPU ) up and im starting to get ticked :-/

this is my components

CORSAIR Builder Series CX500 V2 500W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Corsair Carbide Series 300R Black Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

BIOSTAR TA75M FM1 AMD A75 (Hudson D3) SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

AMD A4-3400 Llano 2.7GHz Socket FM1 65W Dual-Core Desktop APU (CPU + GPU) with DirectX 11 Graphic AMD Radeon HD 6410D AD3400OJHXBOX

ASUS DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS Black SATA 24X DVD Burner - Bulk - OEM

CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9B

Seagate Barracuda ST1000DM003 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive

at startup ( or the push of the power button ) i got VGA error ( no display what so ever, the monitor did not even detect anything). tried the two DVI to VGA ports on the EVGA graphics card, nothing. tried the DVI to VGA, the normal VGA on the Biostar motherboard, same thing. nothing.
so i decided to clear the CMOS
and i did
and it cleared the LED error "VGA error"

but still.. NO display what-so-ever. i plug in my USB keyboard in the front of the case, the back USBs and no lights turn on the keyboard

the power supply fan is running, north bridge and system fan are running, LED power light is on, HDD and optical drives are spinning

I have NO idea what to do now

please please help

Got the standoffs under the board in the right places? Got the 4 pin CPU power connector plugged in?

as you can see by my #1 post, i am a noob.. standoffs? i snugged as many screws to the motherboard to the case as i could

4 pin? the power supply only allows me to plug in 2 pins out of 4 in the white box on the top right of this pic of the mobo ( below the HDMI port )

you shud have a 4 pin to go into that , also i've had very bad luck with biostar-not on a build was from a off the shelf unit
i think the connector is a p7,also is apu after your processor ,graphics if it is u might have to disable it

These are standoffs..

They need to be placed between case and motherboard so you don't ground out the motherboard to the case. They must also be placed only under screws holes in the motherboard. Anyhwere else and you'll short the board out.

my case only came with 1 standoff

Ok, I just looked and the case already has raised spots for the standoffs. I would assume you have a motherboard issue then.

Sure your using the right connector from the power supply. All 4 pins need to be plugged in.

Or a 8 pin that comes apart to use 4 pins.
