windows 8 compatible processor

I have an old gateway e4100 that I was wanting to upgrade to windows 8. But when I downloaded the release preview installer it said my processor was incompatible. sure enough, it doesn't support NX. I'm not sure why we need this but apparently Microsoft decided its important. The current processor is a hyper threaded 3ghz pentium 4.

Are there any processors compatible with windows 8 that I could upgrade to on this mobo? 32 or 64bit doesn't matter to me, but I couldn't find any 64 bit in these.

It says it supports these processors:
Support for an Intel® Pentium® 4 processor in an mPGA478 socket with a 400/533/800-MHz system bus

Support for an Intel Celeron™ processor in an mPGA478 socket with a 400-MHz system bus

ALL HELP IS APPRECIATED!!!

Some P4 released by late 2004 and later supported NX, needed J at the end of the model number. Pretty sure all Prescott 2M and later P4s supported NX.

Read this, it may help, providing the oem bios is capable of enabling this setting. I doubt it though.

I did read about that a little, I didn't think about the bios, if my current processor doesn't support it, even if I did upgrade it, would the bios still not let it work?

Some P4 released by late 2004 and later supported NX, needed J at the end of the model number. Pretty sure all Prescott 2M and later P4s supported NX.

I am pretty sure I have a northwood, I'll have to look at the model number.
