Hi guys,

Just finished assembling my system. I added a CM Hyper 212 on top of i5-3570K. My idle is at 31 degrees celcius. I hear how people achieve around 28 to 29. Did I do something wrong here or am I acting paranoid?

I'm at stock frequency atm.

Thanks,

That should not be a problem at all.

Have you tried putting the CPU to some stress? Like a game or a stress test.

That's perfectly normal, the only option to see the real cooling power is looking for the temps when you stress your cpu 100% for 15 min. Like kasper said above^^.

Yea, I'm going to wait until my GPU arrives and give it a try.

Thanks man

it can take a few days for the thermal paste to fully sure and give optimal heat transfer which afterward can drop the temps 1 or 2 degrees. Also if you used the thermal paste that came with the 212 it isn't the best, it will do the job but a good 10 buck tube of arctic silver would lower the temp a couple degrees too.
