Need to delete all info on laptops - does boot and nuke delete everything?

I'm really in need of money right now and cannot afford to have two laptops sitting in dust, I didn't want to sell them as I was afraid the buyer can access my data (buyer will be complete stranger through ebay)

My plan is to use boot and nuke (do nothing else just download and do this) then to manually open the laptop and remove my hardrive and then sell it as a laptop without hardrive or operating system

can the new buyer then buy his own hardrive, and operating system and find any info?

Pleaseee help i'm paranoid! and need to sell these soon thanks everyone! :)

All info is stored on the hard drive, if you are keeping it, then there is no sense in deleting it.

ok thanks! :) so if i take out hardrive only, for both laptops, they cannot find 1 bit of info about my installed programs, internet history, and everything? there is not one single other bit that stores info? sorry i'm sooo paranoid and know nothing about computers but I really need to sell these soon :) thanks again :)

Nothing else stores info but the hard drive. Well technically the memory does, but once the computer is set to shut off, all data is transferred back onto the hard drive. Your fine.

thanks! you saved me :) tomorrow i'm going to open up the laptop and take the hardrive out, then put a new one in :) I'd like to keep the hardrive for another time :)

are certain hardrives for cetain models?

I have a toshiba l500-16m

I want to buy a new hardrive and put it in there, just another quick question will it have windows 7 still with the new hardrive?

Thank you so much it's soooo appreciated :) thankssssss :)

No, it will be just a blank hard drive, no operating system will be on it. Laptop hard drives are 2.5" compared to 3.5" for desktops. Most likely you have a sata hard drive.
