100% cpu usage problem

My computer keeps going to 100% cpu usage. It's only happens when I load up multiple tabs quickly (3-4 tabs is enough), rearrange files on my computer by moving them around (need to move about 6 files consecutively to reach 100%), or save images/files off the internet (need to save multiple files consecutively to reach 100%).

If I wait a minute after it reaches 100% it will drop down to around 15%. Not sure what to do. I'm on windows 7. Also my task manager processes register normal activity that doesn't change when cpu usage jumps from 15% to 100%. Can anyone help?

There are two possibilities. Either you have a system fault (very unlikely) or you have a virus (very likely). Run your antivirus and Deep Scan. If nothing is found, go to BitDefender's Online Antivirus Scanner and scan again. If nothing is found, restart into the safe mode without networking and run your Deep Scan again. If nothing is found, check the hard drive for faults, and lastly, re-instal the Windows with full formatting of the hard drive.

First we would need to know what your system specs are.

Processor
how much memory installed

Second, what process or processes is using up all the processor.

Don't mean to argue with the moderator  but unless he has some very old, single core processor and no more than 512MB of ram, or he runs video editing / 3D rendering software, I struggle to see what other process would use 100% of CPU. And if it is some malware, then it won't show that easy on the process list.

But yes, it would help to know what are the basic specs of your pc. A screenshot from your task manager could be helpful too.
