Nvidia vs. AMD: Who's on top right now?

Toms hardware just did a comparison on the 660ti with MSAA enabled...apparently the 192-bit interface really chokes them down...so if your looking to use MSAA get the 670 or 7800s or 7900 cards.

Is that something different than regular AA? Like a different setting that some games have?

What would be better: a single higher quality card, like the GTX670, or two lower quality cards like a pair of 7870s?

MSAA = AA

Single fast card over many slower cards, though the 660Ti got bested at AA by two 7750s...was kinda wtf...think drivers need to mature honestly.

I guess it's just a matter of how much "slower" are the 7800/7900 cards than the 660/670 ones. I'm not really sure how they compare.

2 slower would be faster but not as easy to upgrade and more of a hastle

Well I guess I really only need one anyway. It's just a matter if I can live with that 192 bit of the 660 Ti

Performance for value, this should give you a indication where everything stacks up gaming wise.

damn, after nvidia released the 660ti i know amd dropped the msrp but god that's so much cheaper, the 7870 is supposed to list for like 250! i know the 6950 was very close in performance to the 7850 and the 7870 is a bit stronger so the value is amazing!

If I was building now, I'd grab two of them. $400 for two 7870s, then sell both sleeping dogs games for around $80. $320 for two 7870s. Yes, please.

Thanks. Nice comparison of the exact cards I'm asking about. I'm still a little torn though. It may be worth the extra money to get the 670 after all, if I'm determined to go with Nvidia, that is. But $399....yikes....
