Linux Cinamon Imac sound help

Hello, I need some help getting sound on my Imac running Linux cinamon. I've been searching for a few days, with no luck. I've turned up the volume using alsamixer and unmuted everything. I actually wiped out my alsa-base.conf file the other day and ended up just re-installing linux. I read a similiar thread on this forum, that was almost identical to my problem with seems to be the same machine, but the thread stopped before the end result was shared. I had mint installed on this machine and had a problem with the sound as well, but I eventually did get it working, but sounded like there was no bass. That was a few months back and I dont remember what I did that time. Here is some output that may help that I got from the other thread.

I remember that thread. I got a bit stumped, but I can give it another try.
Try this in a terminal.
Code:
 amixer | grep -A 6 -i bass
Code:
 amixer | grep -A 6 -i treble
If you get output like below, it means the bass/treble can be adjusted (or so I've read)
Code:
Simple mixer control 'Bass',0
  Capabilities: volume
Playback channels: Front Left - Front Right
Capture channels: Front Left - Front Right
  Limits: 0 - 40
  Front Left: 29 [72%]
  Front Right: 29 [72%]

Also, in the sound mixer find the "Tone" field or add it if not available (it's supposed to be there at least) and unmute it.
