Laptop Running hot

hey guys. I have a HP dv6000 laptop that runs really hot. Oddly enough, it gets really hot when i have the thing shut and nothing running. I usually keep it on a table, and I just cleaned out the ventilation holes with a vacuum. I know for a fact the fan is running cause I can hear it turn on if i put my ear near it.

How can I make it run cooler?

What are the processor core temps? Mine ASUS AMD is at 50C right now, I do use a cooling fan pad under it.

GPU:64C
HD0:54C
Temp1:63C
Core:64C

I got those from SpeedFan. I should check in the BIOS, but I don't know how to get into it.

Open it! Take out the heat sink and fan and clean it . Change the thermal pad, look for one on Ebay ,and besides get a Cooler. If you dont do it soon your laptop will died.Sorry ,but that is the truth.

Yea, you can only clean out so much from the outside. This happened to me before, and I cleaned my laptop from the outside. It still wasn't cooling, so I opened it up and removed a giant clump of dust from the fan output. It was rewarding because now I can use my laptop again.
