stuck on build need help

I have everything in I just have 2 more questions

I'm assuming you can use 3 pin fans on a 4 pin prong?

Mobo says to connect 4/8 pin as well as 24 pin atx power connector from PSU, I have the 24 pin but I don't see the 4/8 pin, is it just a pci-E socket??

Don't see a 1394 on this P8 z77 board is there not a connector?


And lastly there's a 4 prong and a 3 pin connector left after I connected everything to the case , are these just for power?? Because I have the slots on my psu

2. The 4/8 pin is the CPU power connector. It has to be connected. No you can not use a PCIe 6/8 pin power cord on the 4/8 CPU power connector, plus I dont even think they are keyed the same to plug in. What power supply do you have?
3. Which P8Z77 is this, there is like 5 different models?
4. Dont really understand the last question.

Figured it out the last question i jusat plugged power into it and called it good, Found the 2 4 pin connectors to total 8 pin and connected

Asus P8z77-LK , and figured there wasnt a firewire port.

Noone noticed i said i had 2 questions and asked 4? ok thanks man
